The Fitness-Life Balance
2nd Mar 20
When it comes to good health, most people look straight to exercise and diet. They’re two of the most significant components of health, they always have been and always will be. The issue, however, is that this often means people often forget the other side of life. The generally more enjoyable side of life is living, experiencing and enjoying things outside of positive health choices. That’s where the fitness/life balance comes from.
The point we’re trying to get across is that such a thing does exist. The fitness-life balance; a way to do both, enjoy both, and maintain both, potentially for the rest of your life. You just need to make sure you get it right.

What is Fitness-Life Balance?
The fitness-life balance is something that only you can find yourself. It’s totally different for everyone, after all, and you need to find your own. It is finding where the line is for you personally.
You need to be able to recognise that there is more to life than trying to be as healthy as you possibly can all of the time. The reason for that is that it’s not the healthiest thing that you can actually do. It’s quite the opposite, in fact.
In reality, and to be able to do this for the rest of your life, you need to be able to enjoy both sides of the line. You need to be able to find a way to exercise and diet in a way that is good for your health, but you also need to make sure you are getting everything life has to offer. That comes from perhaps less healthy treats, experiences, drinks, days in, days out… anything you enjoy doing, whether it’s healthy or not. It’s all a huge part of a happy life as a whole, and you need to remember that.
How To Find It
How to find the fitness-life balance is a challenge in itself. There’s a fine line between being unhealthy, healthy, and too healthy, and it’s all a tricky thing to master. Generally speaking, the best way to do it is to ease yourself into it. Try a new exercise plan or diet that can fit around your pre-existing life, things you like doing, or what you like to eat, and just adjust it from there. Fill gaps where you have them.
Making things too hard or inconvenient for yourself is only going to end badly after all. You can only do so much to help yourself. Making things hard is only going to end with you feeling demotivated or failing, and that is not something we need. Fitness and health should be a lifelong habit, after all.
The other side of the coin is too much the other way. People often feel the need to be as healthy as they possibly can be, all of the time (even if that results in an addiction to fitness). That could be six workouts a week, never feeling content unless you’re doing good things to your body. Even not having certain types of food anymore like with the keto diet, this can be a culprit of this. Cutting out sugar for the rest of your life may make things a little dull if it’s in all of the foods you love. It’s all different for each and every single one of us.
Things To Remember
With everything that we’ve already said in mind, it’s essential that you always remember that you can’t always do everything; things change. You need to make sure that you aren’t too hard on yourself. There will be times in your life when health just can’t fit in, and that’s fine also. Let yourself have time off when you need it; your health is not something that should be a chore. This balance can waver up and down either way, and it’s rarely the same for too long. Adjust with it and let yourself relax, and try to be mindful of what you are doing to your body.
This kind of thing is the perfect thing to help get the mental benefits that exercise has to offer without all of the guilt and annoyance that often comes with it, so try your very best to find your own and stick to it. Your fitness is your own, and no one else’s. Do what makes you healthy and happy.
Good luck!
